ACRYLICS

turned to acrylics after Art College as I wished to paint larger than watercolours would allow. I needed a new challenge and a way to free up my process. Still having children at home, my garden offered the most accessible subject matter, and to start with, Georgia O’Keefe was an obvious influence.
Irises, poppies and peonies are my favourite subjects, and I approach them rather like personal portraits. My love of Japanese woodblock prints often influences my feeling for composition. I am currently using acrylics in my fluid art work.
