FLUID ART

I FluidArt PageF copy.jpg

discovered fluid art in 2018.   It is a relatively new technique, so there are no perceived ‘rules’ and every piece feels experimental.  The acrylic paint is often layered,  applied to the canvas with different methods, then tipped or spun.   Paint can be blown with a hairdryer,  or heated with a blow-torch;  it can also be manipulated with a palette knife. Normally brushes would not be used as any compression makes the paint layers ‘muddy’.

These techniques make the process exciting and spontaneous;  results are never the same twice so each image created is unique. I am currently experimenting using my coastal photographs as inspiration.
